Most instant messengers are very user friendly. They have a toolbar to format your text into different fonts, colors and sizes. You can also convert your important text into bold, italicized or underlined.
Google talk provides some basic features but unexpectedly few things are hidden. I have already told you about hidden emoticons (smileys) in Gtalk and now I will tell you about hidden text formatting techniques in Gtalk.
Do you wish to type something in bold when you are chatting in gtalk?
– To type your message in bold, encapsulate it in asterisks (*).
– To italicize any word, write it between two underscores (_).
Then put a asterisk (*) before and after your message to get it bold
eg: *bold text* will give an output bold text
Italizing your Text in Gtalk
Do you wish to type something in italics when you are chatting in gtalk?
Then put an underscore(_) before and after your message to get it bold

These are good tips but the one that everybody really wants is the ability to change the font SIZE.
Oh, I forgot to add another tip we need is how to word wrap text. It’s really frustrating when you can’t see all that you typed because the first part of the message is beyond the text box. The more I use this product the less impressed I am..
Change text size
The default text is too small? You can change the text by pressing Ctrl + mouse scroll up/down. Scroll up will enlarge the text, scroll down will decrease the text size. Note that the text size is for you only, it will not affect the receiver side’s text size.
