A website template can be perfect for a small business or even a blog website, which may only require a simple site with some menu options and areas for images.

There are many things to consider when creating a website to promote your work or your company, including budget and how important your website is for generating business and gathering clients, and all of these factors need to be taken into consideration when deciding between a template or a designer.

Designing a best website templates could not be easier these days, thanks to website templates that are ready to use.  You can purchase these templates at very affordable rates, saving a lot of money on a professional website designer whose services are expensive due to the education and experience he/she has gained.

Keep in mind that there are disadvantages to using readymade website themes for the design of your website, and these should be considered before you jump in and purchase one from one of the many online retailers of templates.

Cons of Using Website Templates

Though there are a huge number of website templates out there, all offering a unique color scheme and layout, you have to keep in mind that these same templates are accessible by millions of other people, so your website will never be 100% unique, and you may very well end up running into another website that has used the same template you have.

Though the templates may allow you to change your colors, images, and menu items, the general format of the website cannot be changed, so it will always mirror other similar templates.

From a design perspective, website templates are great for those who do not really have a creative eye.  But for those that really love art and creating things from scratch, a ready-made theme will feel inhibiting and will not satisfy that individual’s creative needs.

If you are the type of person that has a vision for how your business should look and how its website should support its look, a pre-made website theme will not work for you, and it is best to work with a professional site designer who will get you exactly what you are looking for that is found nowhere else on the web.

To truly customize your website’s template, you will need special software programs and knowledge of HTML, which only a website developer can provide.

Therefore, if you choose a website template, but you want to edit the way it looks, such as moving an image box from one part of the page to another or altering the layout of the menu, you may not have that kind of creative freedom, and you may very well have to hire that website designer after all.

And if, in the future, you decide to upgrade your website to match current trends or new browsing criteria, you will have to either purchase a whole new template and start from scratch, or pay someone yet again to edit the template you have.
